Michael G. SchwendemanDirector, Research & Development

Role:  As Director of Research & Development, Michael leads a number of Denison’s internal and external functions.  His team helps answer unique client questions by turning raw data into actionable insights that build upon the standard reports, such as generating unique themes from large numbers of open-text comments and linking culture and leadership data to key business metrics to demonstrate the ROI of working on culture and leadership development.  Internally, the R&D team manages the array of benchmarks used by clients and partners and drives forward innovative new products and services to update Denison’s portfolio of offerings.  Finally, Michael leads Denison’s research agenda to produce thought leadership content to share with academic and practitioner audiences.

 

Background: Michael joined Denison Consulting in 2018 after working at Ford Motor Company on their Talent Analytics team.  In addition to previous consulting experience with a number of local organizations, he has published research in peer-reviewed journals such as Journal of Business and Psychology, Human Performance, and International Journal of Selection and Assessment on the topics of text analysis of performance comments, calibration meetings for performance ratings, and individual differences in interview design.
